Distinguished Urologist and Renal Transplant Surgeon, recognized for his extensive experience of over 15 years in the field. He has achieved expertise in complex urological surgeries, kidney transplants, and managing male infertility, offering a broad spectrum of services in urology.
Early Years & Education
Born with a passion for medicine, Dr. Addla embarked on his medical journey with an MBBS from the prestigious Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences in Andhra Pradesh. His insatiable thirst for knowledge led him to the United Kingdom, where he imbibed the meticulous UK medical culture. Here, he achieved his MRCS from the Royal College Of Surgeons in 2000, followed by an FRCS in Urology in 2007. His academic pursuits didn’t stop there. He further honed his skills with a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Manchester in 2010.
Specialized Training & Fellowships
Recognizing the importance of specialized training, Dr. Addla underwent rigorous uro-oncology and robotic surgical training at The Christie Hospital, one of the world’s largest cancer centers. This was complemented by a fellowship in Brussels, equipping him with a unique blend of skills that he would later bring to his patients in India.
Professional Experience
Dr. Addla’s professional journey is marked by significant milestones. Before joining Apollo Hospitals, he served as a Consultant Urological Surgeon at Bradford Teaching Hospital, where he showcased his expertise in cancer and robotic surgery from 2009. Notably, he introduced robotic surgery in Bradford and spearheaded the department of the robotic uro-oncology team.
Areas of Expertise
Dr. Sanjai Addla’s specialization lies in providing surgical treatments for cancers of the prostate, kidney, bladder, testis, and penis. His prowess in robotic surgery is unparalleled, having performed over 500 robotic prostatectomies and more than 150 robotic partial nephrectomies. Beyond these, he has successfully conducted hundreds of open and laparoscopic cancer surgeries.
